Visualizing variation with Tinkerplots

Ruth Kaniuk from Lynfield College was a Royal Society Fellow in 2013. She has produced many valuable resources that allow students to explore concepts about data through Tinker Plots data visualization and modeling technology.

The focus of the following 2 tasks:

  1. To observe variation of results when an experiment is repeated a small number of times
  2. To use simulation to estimate a probability
  3. To compare the probability situation when sampling with and without replacement (Eyes Have it 1 and 2)
  4. In Happy Feet the same probability situation as Eyes 2 is presented in a different context. [research suggests that students need this reinforcement]
