Marion Steel (Epsom Girls Grammar School) discussed why some of the most important concepts in statistics are difficult for students to grasp, and why it isn’t easy to get students to confront and overcome their misconceptions. This workshop tried out some hands-on and on-line classroom-tested ways to teach for statistical understanding in years 9 to 13.
