The Emotional Statistician – Michael Shadbolt
Michael Shadbolt (Otumoetai College) expanded on ideas from the 2016 AMA panel presentation. Michael looked at classroom-tested, practical ways of making learning memorable and meaningful by engaging the full spectrum of student emotions. Highlights include: “Throw your students in the river”; “Anscombe got stomped by a dinosaur”; “Pilot Survey Day is better than Christmas” and “Making your experiments just radioactive enough to be effective.”
