Teaching Risk – Lorraine O’Carroll

Lorraine O’Carroll from Carmel College, studied the art of learning and teaching about the concept of Risk. She focused on what teachers and students need to know about teaching and understanding risk at NCEA level 2 and beyond.

Lorraine’s workshop highlighted the pitfalls when thinking about risk and perhaps more importantly, what we want our students to know about to fix these issues.

The presented material was part of Lorraine’s Masters Thesis (see the bottom of her web page). As always, if you use Lorraine’s resources, please attribute the author. Please also consider, if you extend/modify the teaching resource section (in terms of what you would present to students) sharing your work with other teachers via CAS (email censusatschoolnz@gmail.com).
