Apply probability concepts in solving problems – Marion Steele
Marion’s workshop used hands-on learning experiences to explore some of the new concepts in probability at NZC Level 8. This involved investigate randomness, true probability vs model estimates vs experimental estimates, and probability distribution tables and graphs.
- Teaching randomness Suggested activities for teaching the concept of randomness. Contains links to other websites.
- Understanding true probability An outline of theoretical and experimental probability and comaring the model to the observation.
- Fooling the teacher An activity to encourage students to understand what randomness looks like.
- Probability L8 Ppt
- random scatter an excel simulation to help students understand “what is randomness?”
