S Y3 Leave Your Lunchbox Litter – PPDAC cycle

By following the PPDAC cycle ākonga will have an opportunity to look at the actions taken on a daily basis, collecting data to support their ideas and impact in a positive way at school.
This activity explores the following key ideas:
- posing summary investigative questions about everyday situations
- anticipating what the data might show
- identifying who and what the data measures
- discussing how the data-gathering process might affect other people
- using survey questions to collect categorical or discrete numerical (i.e. whole number) data.
- recording, and sorting data
- creating data visualisations for data on categorical and numerical variables
- describing data visualisations using the variable name and the context and giving the frequency for each category or number
- answering questions about data visualisations, including which category has the most or least items and questions involving operations.
- choose statements that best answer the investigative question, reflect on findings, and compare them with anticipated outcomes.
