3.14 Distribution of true probabilities and other new ideas

Marion Steel from Team Solutions, presents at the 2013 joint Auckland Mathematics Association and Department of Statistics (University of Auckland) Statistics Teachers Day.

Marion explains the way we teach and assess probability is changing. The NZ Curriculum now focuses more on understanding probability distributions and working with them to solve problems, than on calculating individual probabilities, and so does the Level 3 Distributions standard AS91586.

Marion’s learning activities are designed to develop an understanding of probability distributions.
